About Me

Born in 1964, I grew up in Coventry before attending boarding school in Shropshire from the age of 11. Those years were filled with sport, particularly rugby and athletics, but they also proved to be the beginning of my lifelong love of art.

I loved nothing more than spending hours in the art room, where I was fortunate enough to have my own key. During this time I worked in pencil, charcoal and oils, creating mostly studies of motorbikes, cars, wildlife and fantasy subjects.

After leaving school, I took a position as an apprentice draughtsman, but soon found myself moving in a more creative direction, producing promotional graphics for sales and marketing conferences for many well-known companies.

In 1997, I decided that I wanted to pursue my art more seriously. I left my job and set about finding a way to make a living from my creative work. My artwork, particularly my paintings of dogs and wildlife, has been and continues to be successfully published and sold through Sally Mitchell Fine Arts, with many of the limited editions now sold out. I have also worked with larger companies, licensing my artwork for collector’s edition products.

In recent years, I have turned my attention to sculpture, working with clay and discovering a whole new area of creative exploration. Sculpture has opened up another way for me to express ideas and subjects that I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, and has brought a new dimension to my creative journey.
